Photography In the Style of… Ansel Adams
Our third PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE STYLE OF… workshop takes place on Saturday, November 17th from 9 am – 12:30 pm. We will explore the work of Ansel Adams (1902 - 1984). Anyone interested in landscape photography is most likely familiar with Adams. He was the guru of landscape photography. I recall seeing an exhibit of his work in the 1980's. His prints shimmered on the wall. It has been said his often elevated view of the landscape was as if from God's perspective. He brought a reverence for grand vistas. Ansel Adams readily shared his techniques in a series of books on photography. We will look at and talk about some of his better known works of art. Even dive into black and white and its affect on the image's impact. I wonder what you might photograph with Mr. Adams work as a source of inspiration?
Grow your photography skills while learning about a man who remains a giant in the photography world 34 years after he passed away.

Alfred Stieglitz was a proponent of Straight Photography, "fully conceiving his picture before he attempts to take it". He created Gallery 291 and a magazine about photography called Camera Works. Later in his life he explored "Equivalence" in photographs. He lead the charge to elevate photography to the status of an art form.
